You’re going to walk away from this training with three new amazing skills:
First, you’re going to learn how to easily decide exactly what tasks you need to delegate to your fist hire.
Next, I’m going to equip you to write a job description, to strategically get the word out about your open role, to interview well, and professionally carry out the hiring process, paid role or not.
And finally, I’m excited to pass along my best tips for empowering + managing your business’ newest game changer.
Stick with me, sister. Making your first hire is going to be an incredible step forward for you.
You’re probably feeling like I did when I initially launched my business in October 2015.
I was overwhelmed. I was wasn’t doing a great job to stay on top of the day to day tasks of keeping my business up and running and I had limited time to actually LIVE MY LIFE. There were so many things I wasn’t getting to in my business…the important things.
I had to keep putting strategic things on the back burner because I was barely keeping up with things that absolutely HAD to get done for my business to keep it running. So, we weren’t growing. And I was getting a weeeeee little burnt out.
I had the realization one day that if I wasn’t willing to let go, then my business was never going to grow. And I wasn’t going to get my life back.
My life changed the next month when I made my first hire: a free intern. A college student that forever changed my outlook on what was possible for our business.
I now manage a team of 10. In my 8 years in Corporate, I had the great privilege of working in HR for many years and learning how to recruit and hire the best of the best. But my 3 plus years in business as an entrepreneur have looked a little different since there’s not a cushy corporate budget protecting me…it’s just a bank account with my business’ name on it and I know you’re probably thinking that you don’t have enough money in your account to make that critical first hire.
I know you’re scared. But I also know you’re excited about what your life + business could look like when you share the load.
There’s a Haitian proverb I’ve come to love and it’s this: many hands make the load light.
I hope you choose to embrace the excitement of possibility over fear as we dig into this training. Deal? Okay, good.
